High-frequency quenching process and function of piston rod

In the modern industrial field, the piston rod has become an out-and-out common component. It is known to those skilled in the art that the piston rod is a connecting member for supporting the piston to perform work, and therefore, the work is often performed in some environments such as high temperature, high speed, dry friction, and erodibility.

 

Taking into account such environmental conditions, in order to allow the piston rod to maintain long-term stable work, we need to work hard in the production process. At present, in order to strengthen its surface hardness and corrosion resistance, it is necessary to carry out relevant process processing, such as rolling process, high frequency quenching process and so on. In fact, after being processed by these processes, it can also obtain sufficient strength, and at the same time, it can also strengthen its anti-friction, anti-fatigue and seizure resistance.

 

In other words, in the process of processing the piston rod, through the rolling process and high-frequency quenching process, etc., it can effectively enhance its overall performance and extend its service life. The so-called high-frequency quenching is a metal heat treatment method that causes a certain amount of induced current on the surface of the piston rod, and then rapidly heats the surface of the part, and finally rapidly quenches the metal.

 

The reason why the piston rod is subjected to the high-frequency quenching process is that its main purpose is to obtain a martensitic structure within a certain depth range of the surface of the product after the treatment, and the core portion still maintains the surface. The pre-quenching state of the tissue (conditioning or normalizing) ensures that the surface layer is hard and wear-resistant, and that the heart has sufficient shape and toughness.

 

The main process of the piston rod for high frequency quenching process: Usually when this process is performed, it is mainly after intermediate grinding or high frequency quenching, induction heating to 1000°C to 1020°C, 0.0 to 0.6. MPa compressed air is used for cooling, and the hardened layer is 1.5 to 2.5 mm deep. After quenching, the piston rod is straightened. Then it is tempered at 200°C~220°C, and the holding time is 1~2 hours. The oven is air-cooled to room temperature and its hardness is above HRC50.http://www.xhychromerod.com/
