Heat treatment process of its material in piston rod machining

The piston rod belongs to a widely used connecting part and has been applied to different mechanical products. At present, when machining piston rods, common materials include 45 steel, 40Cr, 2Cr13, and so on. Regardless of the type of steel used for the piston rod, it needs to undergo a certain process to obtain special performance to meet the requirements for use.

 

In fact, when making piston rods, it often involves many different processes, such as electroplating and heat treatment. In fact, only after heat treatment can these materials obtain sufficient strength and surface hardness and the ability to resist corrosion, friction, fatigue, and seizure. First of all, if the material used for the piston rod is No. 45 steel, then the heat treatment process can be summarized as follows: preliminary heat treatment - low temperature spheroidizing annealing - quenching - critical temperature quenching - high frequency quenching. In fact, No. 45 steel is a medium carbon steel. When it is heat-treated, it is mainly used to change the internal structure and change the performance of the steel by heating, holding and cooling the steel in the solid state. After quenching, the surface hardness can reach 45-52HRC, which can obtain high mechanical strength such as high strength and toughness.

 

Second, if the material of the piston rod is 40Cr, then the entire heat treatment process is: pre-heat treatment - elimination of stress in the workpiece - quenching and tempering operations - inspection of the workpiece quality. Everyone should know that this material belongs to a low hardenability quenched and tempered steel, with high strength, good plasticity, toughness, and good mechanical properties. And it can improve the plasticity and toughness of the steel through proper tempering, so that the strength, hardness, toughness and plasticity fit properly to meet the use requirements.

 

In addition, there are many piston rods are made of 2Cr13, the heat treatment process used: pre-heat treatment process - conditioning treatment - stress relief - high frequency quenching, low temperature tempering.
