The key to the surface quenching of chrome-plated piston rods

Aug 27, 2018

Chrome-plated piston rods move frequently in practical applications and the forces they receive are also very complex. Therefore, it is necessary to have good comprehensive mechanical properties to prevent deformation and fracture, and the surface should have high wear resistance, the surface hardness requirement is 58-62HRC, and the high-frequency quenching treatment is often used in the production process.

In the process of processing chrome-plated piston rods, one of the important processes is heat treatment. During the heat treatment process, during the surface quenching, the quenching equipment uses a semi-automatic continuous quenching furnace, and the piston rod is transported by the loading machine to the quenching furnace conveyor belt. The belt is rotated horizontally and fed into the induction coil for heating and quenching.

After surface hardening, the overall performance of the piston rod can be further improved. In fact, for chrome-plated piston rods, the key to surface hardening is the choice of induction coil fabrication and quenching process parameters. The induction coil is made of 10*8mm rectangular copper tube, and is designed as a double-layer structure placed side by side. The front and rear rings are separated by a certain distance. The front ring does not make a water spray hole, and the front ring is used for preheating. At the same time, the process parameters are reasonably selected to ensure the treatment effect.
