Chromium-plated piston rod machining process analysis

In practical applications, as a commonly used piston rod product, the chrome plating piston rod also needs to withstand the alternating load force. In addition, the sealing device may affect a certain portion of the device. In order to reduce adverse effects caused by reciprocating friction, this portion of the chrome plated piston rod should ensure high hardness and strong wear resistance.

 

At present, during production and processing of chrome-plated piston rods, 38CrMoALA is mainly used as the raw material, and the special parts are subjected to quenching and surface nitriding. The hardness of the core is 28 to 32 HRC, and the depth of the surface nitrided layer is 0.2 to 0.3 mm. The surface hardness is controlled within the range of 62 to 65 HRC. After such treatment, it can maintain a certain degree of toughness, and it can also have good wear resistance.

 

From the structural point of view, the composition of the chrome-plated piston rod is relatively simple, and it belongs to the slender shaft type. Therefore, in order to ensure the processing accuracy, the roughing and finishing of the chrome-plated piston rod must be performed separately during the processing. At the same time, it should be noted that the rough and fine cars use the knife holder to reduce the deformation of the workpiece during machining. The center frame must be used when machining both ends of the thread. In addition, when selecting the positioning reference, in order to ensure the coaxial tolerance of the parts and the mutual position accuracy of each part, all the machining processes adopt the positioning of the two center holes, which conforms to the principle of unified standards.

 

During the machining process, the accuracy of the chrome-plated piston rod needs to be strictly controlled. Therefore, relevant parts must be inspected and confirmed before the outer surface is ground. At the same time, the center hole should be studied during processing, and the center hole should be cleaned. The degree of tightness between the center hole and the top should be suitable, and good lubrication should be ensured.

 

In addition, when grinding a special part of the chrome plating piston rod, attention should be paid to separate the two processes. Generally, the test piece must be ground first. After the test piece is qualified, the workpiece can be ground.
