Composition and properties of chrome plating baths for chrome-plated piston rods

Due to the excellent performance of the chrome plating layer, the outer surface quality and functionality of the chrome-plated piston rod can be effectively improved. At the same time, with the development and advancement of technology, the level of chrome plating is becoming more and more perfect, which further expands the application range of chrome plating. For chrome-plated piston rod applications, different chrome plating processes and chrome plating solutions are available.


In the chrome plating process of the chrome-plated piston rod, the ordinary chrome plating solution is a chrome plating solution using sulfate as a catalyst. The plating solution contains only chromic anhydride and sulfuric acid, and has simple composition and convenient use. It is currently the most widely used chrome plating solution. According to the concentration of chromic anhydride, it can be divided into high concentration, medium concentration and low concentration chrome plating solution. Low-concentration chrome plating has high current efficiency and high hardness of chrome layer, but its coverage is poor. It is mainly used for functional plating, such as hard chrome plating and wear-resistant chrome.


For chrome-plated piston rods, the use of high-concentration plating solution is more stable during the chrome plating process, and the conductivity is good.
