Under normal circumstances, the strength of the chrome plating layer decreases with the increase of the thickness, the bonding strength between the chrome plating layer and the piston rod is higher than the bonding strength between the crystals, and the tensile strength and the fatigue strength decrease as the thickness of the plating layer increases. Therefore, the thickness of the chrome plating layer should generally be ≤0.3mm.

 

It should be noted that the chrome plating layer of the chrome-plated piston rod is relatively brittle, so that it should be prevented from being greatly deformed during use to avoid causing the coating to break or fall off.
